Programs

Four ways onto the mats

01

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Grip, position, submission. Technical grappling that works for every size and starting point — leverage beats strength, and you learn why from your first roll.

02

Kickboxing

Striking, footwork and conditioning that leave you sharper every week. WAKO-rules sparring is there for those who want to test themselves in competition.

The path

Every rank is earned in this room

There are no shortcuts on the mats. You show up, you drill, you tap, you learn, and one day the person who started after you asks how you got so good. That's the whole system — and it works on kids and adults alike.

Discipline

Showing up on the hard days is the skill. The mats teach it faster than anything else we know.

Confidence

Not loudness — the quiet kind that comes from knowing you can handle yourself.

Community

Everyone in the room is expected to help the person beside them get better.

Fitness

You will sweat. Conditioning is built into every class, not bolted on after.

Coaches

Owner-operated, on the mats every night

Coaches Justin Havens and Laura Taillon built Huron-Bruce MMA to teach and support the youth of the area. Between them they bring years of experience across a diverse range of martial arts and competition — and they're the ones coaching your class, not staff reading a script.

FAQ

Before your first class

Do I need any experience?

None. Beginners are welcome on day one, and every class is taught so a first-timer can follow along.

What should I wear to a first class?

Comfortable athletic clothes you can move in. We'll walk you through any gear you'd need before you have to buy anything.

How old do kids need to be?

We run programs for kids, youth and adults. Call us and we'll place your child in the right group.

Do I have to spar or compete?

No. Competition training is there for those who want it — plenty of members train for fitness, skill and community.

How much does it cost?

Your first class is free, no strings. Call us at (519) 955-1640 for current rates and family options.

Ripley or Kincardine — which one?
